How do I use my Breadman Plus machine?

I got this in 1999 and have misplaced the manual. My 6 year old daughter really wants to make bread and I tried it but it didn't come out right (since I was just guessing). I have the store bought bread machine mix. I remember it being simple. Does anyone know or remember how to make it? I tried searching google but came up all broken links. Thanks!

Breadman Bread maker kneading twice?

I have a breadman Bread maker TR333 that my parents got. It has no manual and I can't find it online. Is it normal for it to knead the dough twice after a long pause?

Yes, that's normal. If you were making the dough by hand, you'd knead it, let it rise once, punch it down and knead, then let it rise again. So that's what the machine is doing.

What are the differences between jam, jelly, preserves, marmalade, and spreadable fruit?

I go to the grocery and see these options for multiple flavors - I just don't understand the detailed differences among the 5 options. Are there additional options as well?!?!

"*JAM* is a type of sweet spread or condiment made with certain fruits or vegetables, sugar, and sometimes pectin. Most jams are cooked. Uncooked or minimally cooked (less than 5 minutes) jams, called "freezer jam" (because they are stored frozen) are popular in parts of North America for their very fresh taste.

In the United States and Canada, jams are invariably made from mashed or ground fresh fruits (or in the case of vegetable jams, from cooked vegetables), and are never filtered. In United Kingdom and most Commonwealth countries, there are filtered and unfiltered jams, with the former resembling what Americans and Canadians call jelly. In this case the word "jelly" is usually reserved for a sweetened gelatine dessert. (An exception is bramble jelly, a seedless blackberry jam).

True North American *JELLY*, however, is not filtered jam but is made by cooking transparent to translucent fruit or vegetable juice with sugar until it reaches the jelly stage (95-105° Celsius), after which pectin is added to help the jelly achieve a firm set.

North American cuisine also distinguishes preserves, butters, and conserves from jams. *PRESERVES* use whole fruits, or large pieces of fruit or vegetable. *BUTTERS* are made from certain orchard fruits, such as apples, pears, or apricots, lightly flavoured with such spices as cinnamon and/or cloves. A *CONSERVES* is a preserve made with two or three contrasting fruits, or with two fruits and a fruit or nut butter, or a mix of fruits and nut. A jam made with citrus fruit and peel is called a *MARMALADE*."

I think that covers just about all of them except spreadable fruit, which I think is an American invention to trap consumers into paying more!! It may have to do with "no added sugar", but I found this definition under "spreadable fruit" at Hormel:

"Often referred to as a preserve, this fruit spread can be used like a jam or a preserve to be spread on crackers, bread, toasted foods, or baked goods. It is made in a variety of fruit flavors, all having a very smooth texture that is slightly denser than jams and much heavier than jellies. Spreadable fruit can be used as a filling for cookies, bars, pastries, cobblers, and other similar foods. Typically, fruit fillings have a heavier bodied texture than spreadable fruit, but both may serve similar purposes."

which is better, a gas or electric water heater?

so, i need to replace the water heater. my home is the 1950's ranch style in north texas. it's currently gas. the thing is...i was in a nasty gas explosion a few years ago...and consequently HATE gas, scared to death of it, can't even use my oven without freaking out. but...also not rolling in cash. right now i just keep the closet door shut and never get near the water heater.

when i get the new one, which is better and cheaper? gas or electric? and if i already have a gas one, can i even switch to electric? or is that impossible?

i have a 30 gallon heater, is that ok? this house has two people in it. about how much should i pay for a water heater, will any one do?

Electric water heaters cost less to purchase but are more costly to operate. Gas water heaters are a little more expensive to purchase but cost a little less to operate. It will be cheaper for you to have a gas model installed as you already have things set up for a gas one. If you switch to an electric water tank you will have a more costly installation as you will most likely have to hire an electrician. It is possible to do though.

In addition, you should do a little research and try to buy an "energy star" rated model regardless of whether it's gas or electric. This will save you a bit of money annually. Also, as for safety...the newer water heaters are much safer than older models used to be. To insure safety always have a qualified technician install a hot water tank.

Depending on where you reside, a 30 gal. (which is fine for 2 people) electric water tanks generally costs $140 and up whereas a gas model may start at around $200 and up. Installation will be an additional cost. Most brands that are energy star rated are pretty good, it really doesn't matter what brand name you purchase.

If I may also suggest something, you should look into purchasing a tankless water heater, especially since you have a ranch style home and it appears that your water tank is currently on the same floor as your living space (in a closet). I have an on demand tankless gas water heater. Mine is actually from the mid. 1980's. It's gas and I have never had a problem with it except for regular maintainence. I can't tell you how much money they save. They also make electric models. I have a newer small electric model in a cottage where gas is not available.That one also works wonderfully. I do suggest that if you do ever choose to go with this type of water heater, that you have a plumber who routinely installs these do it. I have heard some plumbers say how they wouldn't recommend them but in reality it's usually because their company either doesn't sell them or they don't know how to install them. These water heaters do cost more, usually around $450.00 and installation generally costs the same as a tank model. However, in my opinion, they are really worth it if you consider the fact that they aren't continually heating up water day in and day out, they save so much money in gas. It's designed to only heat the water as you need it (when you turn the faucet on). They work very well.

Recently fell in love with an Electric Water Steamer in Germany, can I buy one in the states?

I recently returned home to the USA from a vacation in Germany and while there I used a water steamer. It was to steam heat water. It sat on the counter in the kitchen. You put water in it and set it on the base and push the button on the top of the pitcher. When it is done steaming the water to hot it shuts itself off. I really want one of these, but can't remember the name of it and couldn't buy on there because of the different electric system. Please if anyone can help. I would like to purchase on here in the states. Thank you.

Hi there. The name in Germany is "Wasserkocher" (translation: water cooker). I have one of these at home and it is most convenient. Because the water stays hot longer than just heating it in the microwave. I am not sure if you can buy them in the States, because I used to live there for about 3 years and I have never seen one like that over there. But I am sure you can buy one in Germany and let the company ship it over to your place. Don't forget a transformer though, otherwise you will have trouble with the electricity.

Scientific explanation for blue flashes of light that light up the whole sky?

OK, so I was driving tonight, it was dark out and all, and I see this flash of bight blue light that lit up the whole sky, and I swear it was not lighting I didn't hear any thunder. Then I see in two more times in the next minute or so each lasting about 5 seconds. Whats the logical explanation for this, because when I Google it all I get is UFOs. XD

When power lines short out during bad weather the arc is very bright and has the 'electric blue' color, so that could be what you saw. A few such arcs will often shut the line down altogether, so they stop.

Who Else Thinks The Whole "Blue-Eyed Blonde" Thing Is Getting Washed-Out?

I think it does because it looks so washed-out and fake. (in my opinion)
NO offense to you blue-eyed blondes out there or anything, but it's my ownopinionn. I'm a blonde, and I think green or brown eyes would look prettier and more NATURAL with blonde hair(: I think blue eyes look way better with darker hair.

If a 230-volt, 1 phase 50 Hz and coffee with 220 volts of 2-phase 60 Hz?

Recently, I got a Bodum Santos coffee maker, appears as 230-volts-50 Hz, but does not have a European plug in charge has been reduced from 220 volts of America 3-port connector. The stopper has incorporated a 13 amp fuse, the Ly N-terminal connected. I have a hard time believing that this is simply the American 220 volts, as is 2-phase. Everyone knows that electricity? There is a 110-plug, is a small 220 3-Port is the top station of the long-term soil and the bottom 2 terminals L and N. an image in your head and terminal T 2 on the ground floor and above 90 degrees.

If you like the supplement that will help. A 3 small port connector sounds like a standard 120 volt grounded, not a 220-volt outlet. A fuse 13 amp would be something perfect for a 1200-watt device is connected to 120 volts. Basically, it seems that this coffee was 120 Volt changed. If done well, I can not say. As for the phases, it is American residential 220-volt single phase system. I do not know from anywhere used throughout the world, is in Phase 2. A house is a decrease of 1-phase, 240 volts. That comes from a center-tapped transformer. To take center 2, 120-volt legs, not stages, the 240-volt drop. Some people call legs in these phases, but wrong.

That someone is home alone and something terrible happens and the kettle starts to whistle? I wonder if he has something to do with the pot unattended and no one to "rescue". I 'am home alone this morning and I had forgotten he was boiling water into the teapot and began to whistle. All fear and I suddenly found myself not wanting to go alone ~ ~ in the kitchen. He hoped to get out of my locker room Leatherface. Shudder ~ ~ So is this a case Pavlov packaging (Did I watch horror films and have enough now associated with a cup of tea call attention to adverse events)?

I think it would more fear, if the kettle whistling stopped, which means that Leatherface pour a cup of tea. I made a nightmare last week as part of strange creatures who try to attack. I got up at 5 o'clock to go for a walk. It was dark, and I do not want a light and wake my Husby. While sitting on the floor in the dark, putting in my shoes, I could almost feel the baby in the corner, preparing to drag out of me by my ankles.:)
